On Saturday, November 12, 2011, the Province of St. Elias and our foundation in Vietnam celebrated the joyous occasion of the profession of solemn vows of Brother Anthony Trung Nguyen, O.Carm. The Prior Provincial, Father Mario Esposito, O.Carm., was present to receive the vows, and the main concelebrant was Father Joseph Trung Tran, O.Carm.,

General Intention: Access to Water.
That all peoples may have access to water and other resources needed for daily life. 

Missionary Intention: Health Workers. 
That the Lord may sustain the efforts of health workers assisting the sick and elderly in the world's poorest regions.

This issue of the Vox Eliae carries the sad news of the deaths of two veteran members of the St. Elias Province, Father Aquinas Stack, O.Carm. and Father Vincent McDonald, O.Carm. Both of our brothers were well-known Carmelites who served zealously for many years.

Reverend Vincent M. McDonald, O.Carm., a member of the Order of Carmelites of the North American Province of St. Elias, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 after a brief illness. He was 91 years old.

General Intention: Victims of Natural Disasters. 
That the victims of natural disasters may receive the spiritual and material comfort they need to rebuild their lives. 

Missionary Intention: Dedication to Peace. 
That the dedication of Christians to peace may bear witness to the name of Christ before all men and women of good will.
