On a cold but beautiful morning, the Carmelite Friars celebrated the 59th Annual All Carmelite Souls Mass and procession to the Carmelite cemetery at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Middletown, NY. This special annual occasion is to remember and pray for all of the deceased friars of the St. Elias Province, our deceased Carmelite seminarians from St. Albert’s Junior Seminary and those members of the Lay Carmelites of the Province who have passed away. Father Mario Esposito, O.Carm., Prior Provincial, was the celebrant and homilist. The various Carmelite student friars served the Mass and assisted in the reading of the names of the deceased, and the National Shrine choir, led by Maxine Martin, added so much to the beauty and prayerfulness of the Mass. A lovely luncheon was served following the procession and service in the Carmelite cemetery. We pray for all of our beloved deceased and ask them, too, to remember us and aid us with the support of their prayers.
