While yesterday’s snowfall in Orange County was nature’s reminder that winter is still with us,
the Church points us in a different direction as we began the 40 days of Lent on Ash Wednesday (the word Lent comes from the Middle English word lente, meaning “springtime.”)
Fr. Mario Esposito, O. Carm., Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Elias,
was the celebrant at the Ash Wednesday service at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
