Joyful Celebration of Priestly Ordination in Vietnam

Saigon, Vietnam—March 15, 2025 — In a spirit of deep gratitude and overflowing joy, the Carmelite Order celebrated the priestly ordination of four of its brothers on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The sacred ordination Mass was solemnly presided over by the Most Reverend Joseph Nang Nguyen, Archbishop of Saigon, at the historic Tân Định Catholic Church.

The four newly ordained priests — Rev. Joseph Tam Nguyen, Rev. Anthony Thanh Nguyen, Rev. JB The Hoang, and Rev. Paul Tuan Dang, O.Carm.—received the Sacrament of Holy Orders in a beautiful liturgy that brought together the Carmelite family, clergy, religious, and faithful from near and far.

Present at the celebration were Very Reverend Mario Esposito, O.Carm., Prior Provincial; Rev. Joseph Hung Tran, O.Carm., Commissary Provincial; and Rev. Anthony Trung Nguyen, O.Carm., Provincial Councilor. Their presence was a sign of fraternal unity and support for the newly ordained as they begin their priestly ministry.

The Mass was marked by heartfelt prayers, uplifting hymns, and rich Carmelite symbolism, reflecting the deep spirituality of the Order. The joy of the occasion was shared by many guest priests, religious brothers and sisters, family members, and friends who gathered to witness this moment of grace and new beginnings.

The newly ordained now step forward as priests in the service of Christ and His Church, following in the footsteps of the Prophet Elijah and Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Their ordination is a sign of hope and vitality for the Carmelite mission in Vietnam and beyond.

May the Lord who has begun this good work in them bring it to fulfillment, and may Our Lady of Mount Carmel continue to guide and protect them in their priestly journey.
