Traditional Palm Sunday procession at St. Joseph’s Church in Troy, NY

From the Facebook page of Saint Joseph’s Church in Troy, New York:

We are so grateful to our Carmelite priests who have been working so very hard for this procession. This year our parish will be having for the very first time the traditional Palm Sunday blessing and procession as described in the Carmelite Rite altar Missal of 1935. While many people know that our parish has a Latin Mass, what is less well known is that the Latin Mass most frequently celebrated at St. Joseph’s is the Carmelite Rite, not the Tridentine or Roman Rite.

Our Latin Mass community enthusiastically welcomes anyone who would like to know more and to celebrate with us. Newcomers to our parish, and especially members of the Ordinary Form community who would like to join us are invited to come spend the afternoon with our community for this beautiful occasion. Families with young children are particularly encouraged to come worship with us. We hope to see you there! More information will follow later this week about what to expect for Palm Sunday at the 12pm Mass.

Masses in English for Palm Sunday will be at their normal times at 4pm on Saturday, 8:30 and 10:30 on Sunday morning. Our prayers for a fruitful end to Lent and beautiful Holy Week to you and all of your family.
